03.25.08The firehose that is lifestreaming appsI'm finding I have much the same response to these apps as Jevon expresses at his excellent blog, socialwrite. I see the usefulness. I want to share and consume. But the sheer firehose of data as soon as you exceed a certain number of friends is truly overwhelming and the signal is lost in the noise. Apps like FriendFeed are in their infancy and are showing significant early promise. 02.19.08Enterprise 2.0 Executive ForumI'm at Ross Dawson's Enterprise 2.0 Executive Forum in Sydney today. We're just one and a bit sessions in and there are already some very interesting and exciting things being said. We've got some very smart presenters including Euan Semple and Andrew McAfee (both presenting via Skype video). There are also a bunch of smart 2.0 folks here - Jasmin Tragas, Des Walsh, James Dellow, Mick Liubinskas, Jodie Miners, Phil Morle and others - hopefully we can sway some opinion. 12.21.07Twitter dangerous? No, inadequate policy dangerous.I called out Michael Krigsman via Twitter when he posted Twitter is dangerous yesterday. His statements are pandering to the security industry "leaky network" fearmongers and the naysayers who feel threatened by the changes that can be brought about in more open corporate communication. I am far more inclined to agree with Ed Yourdon's position. 12.13.07Jeremiah and the Twitter tsunamiJeremiah Owyang's post yesterday was the trigger point for the phenomenon (and it was a phenomenon) where Twitter connectivity spiked between users. I'm guessing there were also a bunch of new users that came on board. Jeremiah's reflecting on it today. I personally picked up another 50-60 new followers and while I've not fully caught up, I've added most of them back. The corresponding increase in richness in the conversations I'm having will be interesting to watch.
