Um… Wow… Thanks.
I’m more than a little stunned at being ranked the #2 marketing blog in Australia by leading industry magazine B&T.
To quote Sean Penn (who was riffing Sally Field in the first place):
You tolerate me. You really tolerate me!
It’s interesting, not least because it’s pretty much been an accident. And sometimes, I’m pretty leery about parts of the marketing industry, so I probably ruffle the occasional feather.
To quote Brad Howarth in the accompanying article:
Stephen Collins got into social media through his background in communications in large corporate and public-sector agencies. Two years ago he went out on his own with Acidlabs (ranked second in the Top 50), to focus on building social media capabilities within organisations by promoting knowledge-sharing and opening up the way they talk internally, to clients and to customers. Inadvertently he has been labelled a social media expert.
That’s pretty much the story.
Anyhow, thanks go to, B&T, Jules (who compiled the list AFAIK) and Brad (for the article) but mostly to the people who keep reading what I have to say and considering it worthwhile.
Now, if the GFC hadn’t made work hard to find sometimes…

Congratulations Stephen
As a (relatively) new player in the social media ocean, I enjoy your blog’s edgy direct approach. I’m excited by new connections that open up every day and value your thoughts as I carve my own path in this amazing global coffee shop/meeting room. And may all of us enjoy a quick end to the GFC!
Congratulations!
I stumbled across your blog, and I’ve gotta say that you’ve a bit of an inspiration to the online community, let alone Australians!
I am planning to start a blog myself soon, so I’ll be back…
That’s an incredibly generous assessment, Vanessa. Thanks!
Get out there and blog. It’s fun, it makes you a better writer and we’ve all got something to say.
