I am presenting in a few weeks at the IIM National Conference, looking at the changing nature of knowledge management and the knowledge worker and their emergence into all parts of business - not locked away in the library and records management where the rest of the organisation often thinks they are.
I’m also focussing quite heavily on the benefits that social computing tools can offer as a supporting mechanism for this “people driven” style of KM. It’s doing amazing things for businesses like Sun, IBM and GM. In addition, these tools are often being used under the radar, with senior management blithely unaware or denying their place in the business.
I’d be delighted for opinions and tales from anyone as to what, where, how and why (and who?) your organisations - either as a deliberate move or under the radar - might be using people driven KM and social computing tools as a support for it.
Thanks!
