We’ve got the big family holiday coming in October, and we’re spending several days in Anaheim and LA prior to the tour. For the two days in LA (when we go to Universal Studios and then join the tour, we’re currently booked at the Best Western Hollywood Hills (the Biltmore was booked out). It looks a little dodgy to us… Happy to be disabused of this notion.
Can anyone recommend a good 4+ star hotel in or near Hollywood that isn’t insanely expensive. Bonus points for free and fast Internet access and that’s kid (10-year-old girl) friendly.
So far, very quick Internet searches, and a prod at TripAdvisor have come up with:
- Renaissance Hollywood (looks ideal in terms of location)
- W Los Angeles (looks a little pricey)
- Roosevelt Hotel (check that neon!)

My 8 year old daughter and I just stayed at Intercontinental Century City in West Hollywood. It was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in the US.
We had a gorgeous room with a view, everything is ultraclean and modern. The service is impeccable you feel like a moviestar the whole time. It’s about 20 minutes drive from Universal Studios. It’s got free wireless in the lobby and free ethernet connection in the room.
I got a great deal on priceline for $125 a night, but it usually $300 a night.
You mentioned Anaheim. I’ve stayed at the Annabella Hotel across from Disneyland and behind the convention center. Very nice, clean and friendly. They have junior suites that have a seperate small room for a child that includes their own television.
Rates are not bad either.
