[...] Stephen Collins, Andrew Boyd, and I, have been blogging about knowledge workers, web workers, and burst mode work. As Andrew jokingly reminds me, it’s probably partly my fault - I bagged Anne Zelekna’s blog post on burst vs. busy work. I suggested that Anne was erroneously talking about ‘web workers’ when she should have been talking about ‘knowledge workers’ and their need for appropriate tools and supporting management structures. My post seemed to set things in motion. [...]

Hi Steve,

I'm definitely in the "burst worker" category. I suspect most web design/coding/IA types are - we accumulate enough knowledge to do the task then we Just Do It. Single point of focus is important to what we do.

PS: downloading Skype now. I've got limited access to text chat on client site but goodness knows I spend a lot of non-client time in front of my laptop :)

PPS: limiting access to technology for technology-based work is a sad fact of Government based work. It sounds like something that I should blog about also :)

Cheers, Andrew
