Installing Flash in Portable Firefox with no installer

Dear Lazyweb,

Is there some way of getting the latest version of Flash Player installed into a portable (USB key-based) version of Firefox without having to run the installer .exe? I want Flash Player 9 on my Firefox Portable.

I’m on a WinXP system that requires Administrator access to run installers, and there is no up to date Flash player (I think ver. 7 is installed on the IE instance on the machine). So, what I really need, I guess, is the Flash .dll. But I have no way of obtaining it.

Ideas? Solutions?

As advised by our friends the following is worked like a charm. Thankyou very much!

, To add to hat Jose has mentioned download the extension
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/xpi/current/flashplayer-win.xpi
by right clicking and selecting “Save Link As”
After this open the file using either WinRar/WinZip and extract the
lashplayer.xpt, NPSWF32.dll files to Mozilla Firefox\plugins\

You guys are all amazing! It took me almost two hours to get everything in line, but I’m so very pleased with my newfound ability to watch youtube videos on my now flash-enabled firefox portable. Lovely!

I can assume by those directories that we are talking about the normal version of firefox, I am afraid that copying those files did no good, in about:plugins, it says that there are no plugins found and I am unable to play videos in youtube.

People!!!

English
Download the xpi file with Save as option, rename the .xpi to .zip, unpack and put all the files on \FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins folder, close firefox and open firefox portable again.

Works fine and perfecto to me!

Español
Atencion todos, descarguen el archivo xpi con guardar como (Save as), renombren el archivo .xpi a .zip, desempaquen los archivos en el directorio \FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins cierren firefox y vuelvan a abrirlo

Hello Everyone!

As ‘nitro322′ tell us:

Specifically, you’ll need to copy these two files:
flashplayer.xpt, NPSWF32.dll

Search these two archives at google…
You will not have problem.
Do you know, right? rs
Ok…

Copy these archives to this directory:
Mozilla Firefox\plugins\

Just do It and restart your Firefox…
Be happy through YouTube, TotallyCrap, LiveLeak, so on! =D

If u download the flash archive(exe file from adobe install_flash_player.exe) . you can extract flashplayer.xpt, NPSWF32.dll using 7zip portable (which dont need installation). then just copy the two files into the firefoxportabl\data\plugins or the usual firefox plugins folder.

It works!
Just these two files

“4) Copy NPSWF32.dll and flashplayer.xpt to FirefoxPortable/App/Plugins”

First I had to took out the HDD out of the notebook, then connect extern on to my PC. Because I had no permissions to add files. I add these two files into the plugin folder of non-portable firefox. It works just pretty.

Simple Step-by-Step Instructions

Overview: When you put Firefox Portable on a USB drive (e.g. to use on the PC at work) it does not have the Flash player installed.

To do so you need to install 2 files.

1. NPSWF32.dll
2. flashplayer.xpt

You will get these files from a computer that has the latest version of Flash. (e.g. your laptop or home computer)

These files are located in the following path:

c:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\

Step 1: Copy the two files above
Step 2: Paste them onto the USB drive (or where your Firefox Portable is located) in the following folder:

App\Firefox\plugins

That’s it!

Hi, I would just like to say that i have uploaded a portable version of firefox from Portable Apps Firefox to mediafire.com. I also have installed flash player with the method used above so all you have to do is download the zip and unzip it. there is no installer because it is completely portable inside the folder extracted.

the link is
