Microsoft earns itself a brownie point from me today – it’s now distributing Flip4Mac Windows Media Components for QuickTime free of charge (it used to be US$10) from the Microsoft website.
Given VLC, as good as it is, still sometimes chokes on the odd Windows-generated video file, this is very cool. Now we Mac users can play wmv files in OSX using QuickTime without having to pay for it (and be legit).
