Cory Doctorow is a smart guy, and a favorite author of mine. Unfortunately, even the smartest people do dumb things… Y’see, as announced on Boing Boing, he’s publishing his latest novella, Themepunks, on Salon’s evil must register website.
I use Firefox’s AdBlock extension to rid me of the online ebola of web advertising; due to the requirements of Salon, it kills any hope I have of ever reading it. There’s no way I’m going to disable AdBlock, or sign up for Salon’s paid services to read this.
